Work and Play Can Go Together – Finally
What it is:
Leroy Merlin created a sandbox that instead of being targeted at children is – finally – targeted at adults. And the insight is very simple and brilliant at the same time. The more we work, the less we play, and since nowadays we tend to work more and more and play less and less, why not have it under one’s desk so that one can remove one’s shoes and play with one’s feet in the sand at the same time, thus combining the best of both worlds?
Why it’s Cool
Its simplicity and brilliance of insight; it fits almost anywhere and does not interfere – too much – with the décor. And, most importantly, because it allows a reconnection with the playfulness and carefree ways of our childhood, thus providing an excellent and very cost-effective and durable antidote for the stress and uncertainties of modern times.

I love the look and idea of this one but can’t stop thinking about the mess it will make whenever you get up to grab a drink or have a toilet break..
It’s a possibility, Zepha, but also avoidable by keeping a towel close by on which to cleanm one’s feet before getting up.
