TECHNOLOGY IN YOUR EYES
May 16, 2020LOAD UP YOUR BRAIN!
May 17, 2020What it is?
How do you make sure your offices and business premises are corona-proof during the COVID-19 pandemic? In addition how do employees keep 1.5 meters distance without getting uncomfortable? Evalan has found a solution for these issues. Evalan developed the Proximity badge, which gives a warning when people do not keep enough distance. The device changes colour when people come too close to each other. When you keep enough distance, the badge is green. However it turns into orange when people are closer than 2 meters apart and it turns red when they are less than 1.5 metres apart
Why it’s cool?
When you are at work, you do not want to continuously monitor whether you are keeping enough distance. People aren’t accustomed to keep distance and this could lead to uncomfortable moments. The Proximity badge can subtly steer the behaviour of employees. Additionally, it reminds them to keep their distance. With this device it is possible to track down the persons you have been interacting with. So if someone tested positive for corona, there is a possibility to check in the cloud which badges have been interacting with the infected person. By keeping track of the interactions you can identify potentially infected people and prevent further spread if it is known that a certain badge (person) is indeed infected with the virus.
Why it has future growth potential?
Originally, the badge is designed for the workplace. However, when large-scale production is possible it would also be a solution for many public areas. For instance: supermarkets and events. A large number of people would like to go back to work and their ordinary life. However that is not possible until there is a vaccine for Covid-19. Until then, we have to come up with creative solutions in order to be able to continue our life successfully. Proximity badge, is one of those solutions!

Hello Isabel, beautiful seed! I wonder what this will do to a person if they wear this bracelet. How would I feel? Your writing style is short and clear, I like it! Maybe you can add some sources and research to support your text?
I would love to read more from you!

Isabel. Interesting Cool Signal, jumping on the corona bandwagon. Documentation is a bit shallow though. And I wonder whether this urgent ‘gadget’ will work – unless many more of us are dying from the virus. When you see how many people in the shopping malls are disrespecting the 1,5 meters rule… Having said that, the keep-distance gap could be a great nudge in class or a the work floor. But then i think it work best when the employer – or Fontys Universities – would supply each worker of student with it (for free). Warm regards. hope to see you this afternoon. Carl
Cool way of using tech, to make life during and post-corona easier!
