It has affected every sector across the world, but undoubtedly, the tourism industry is the one that got the hardest hit.

How is the sector going to do in this post-pandemic scenery? Researchers from McKinsey & Company suggest that recovery to pre-pandemic levels could take until 2023. Many business executives from hotels believe that the road to recovery is making the hotel experience safer. In this case, hospitality companies are deploying a range of hygiene measures that may be helpful.

On the other hand, companies like RXR Realty are investing in digital capabilities that would set them apart from competitors.

RXR Realty is one of the largest office property owners in New York City who sees the real state as a service. The organization, in collaboration with the Microsoft Team, launched the platform called RxWell.

This platform, which includes a mobile app, provides RXR’s tenant’s information about air quality, occupancy levels of a building. RxWell’s users can also see cleaning status or search for food delivery options. Heat maps are also available online that show how full a restroom or conference room is at any time, making the experience of going back to work in the office safer for their clients.

Why it’s Cool?

Real Estate companies can teach other companies the best way to give security to their clients to attend crowded buildings.
You can use your smartphone to detect crowded places in the building, therefore enabling you to make an informed decision of going or not.
Companies that are doing better than the competitors are the ones investing in technology.
Promoting business travel is necessary to make customers feel safe during their stay.

Why it has future growth potential?

Looking ahead, this scenery is not looking good for the hospitality industry. Today, the most successful companies are investing in technology and app development. Most luxury hotel chains have their own apps, some of them might be investing in this technology as a potential solution during coronavirus times. Luxury hotels are buildings that need more than 100 employees for its proper operations. This new technology can make the experience of attending a crowded building safer.

What is it?
