I Want to Smell $$$, Not Pay $$$

WHAT IT IS?

Everyone likes to look good, feel good, smell good. But once you’ve graduated from Victoria Secret and Bath & Body Works smells, you move on to higher brands. More expensive brands. It’s not just the scent that you’re after, but you want something that’s strong, that lasts long. You want to hug someone hours later and get told ‘Wow, you smell great.’ But at what price? Designer perfumes these days can run you upwards of $180 for just 3 ounces of product. Ouch.     I think your blog is interesting and well written, but in the fragrances field, brand awareness remains a key factor for consumers’ choices. Probably, they will have to do more than betting on lower prices.

    Nice blog, Aster. And you hit the trends. Your categorizations are shallow and minimal, though. This is also ‘luxury’ to say the least. And the name of Dossier should have been tagged. Please, always peruse the ”trend terms” list and click what’s relevant. The subject totally fits and I appreciate your thorough effort. Having said that: keep ‘smart & short’ in your mind, as well.     I love reading your blogs, I find them very inspiring bringing up so many cool topics. I did not know the brand Dossier, I will definitely check it out.
    Nonetheless, don’t you think that consumers nowadays tend to spend more just because they want to wear a certain brand regardless the fragrance?

    Hi Aster, first, congratulations with your title as it is very appealing. With perfume I agree that it is so hard to find one that smell nicely even after a few hours, however I agree with Riccardo that brand awareness and an aggressive marketing/use of celebrities in this market is necessary, unless you want to compete in a very niche market.

    I like the approach of the blog. It’s great to see a brand that not only offers high-quality perfumes at reasonable prices but also cares about the environment and uses ethical and sustainable ingredients. The idea of being able to enjoy a luxurious fragrance without feeling guilty about the environmental impact is something that many consumers value today. Additionally, the fact that their products are vegan and cruelty-free is a big plus.
