WHAT IT IS?
Have you ever thought it would be possible to sleep underground? Me neither! However, Sweden came up with a revolutionary idea that is going against everything we have seen until now. Sala Silver Mine Hotel offers its guests the possibility to sleep on the world’s deepest suite, located 155m underground, whose interior is carved out of rock, capturing both the historical significance of the mine and the eerie atmosphere of its subterranean location. The suite blends natural rock walls with elegant furnishings to create an opulent yet raw and rustic charm. Apart from that, this hotel provides you gourmet dinner and breakfast, typically made from local and traditional Swedish ingredients, that can be served either underground or in the on-site restaurant. It is important to mention that due to the underground nature of the suite, bathroom facilities (toilet and washbasin) are located on the surface. However, guests are also assigned a personal host, that they can call 24/7, who accompanies them underground, provides meals, and ensures their comfort throughout the whole stay.
And you might be asking “How am I going to watch Tiktok videos or text my friends while staying in this hotel?” well, obviously you don’t have cell phone signal or Wi-Fi in the suite so you must compromise with the experience and put your phone aside, it’s part of the adventure! Talking about adventure, the Hotel also provides a lot of fun activities to their customers like a guided tour through the mine, exciting hikes where participants can explore deeper parts of the mine and boat tours across the dark, still waters of the underground lakes of Sala Silver Mine, adding a haunting and unforgettable element to their exploration.

WHY IT HAS FUTURE GROWTH POTENTIAL?
Sala Silvergruva has strong future growth potential for several reasons that are essentially driven by the increasing demand for unique and niche travel experiences. It is known that, nowadays, travellers seek more than just accommodation, they crave experiences that are memorable, shareable and Instagram-worthy, and that’s exactly what this hotel offers. Besides being unique, this hotel preserves history, through the infrastructures and the tour guides, and shares it with their guests so they can learn something about the history of the place as well. We can also see the potential on this project through the fact that guests don’t have cell phone signal nor internet, so they will have to learn how to disconnect to reconnect, something that will for sure improve their mental health as well as their interpersonal relationships.
