WHAT IT IS?

In Chile’s Colchagua Valley, wine is more than a drink – It’s a way of life. Here, a boutique hotel decided to take the culture of winemaking one step further by turning giant wine barrels into fully equipped guest rooms. These barrels, once symbols of tradition, now offer travelers the chance to sleep inside the soul of Chilean wine. Guests enjoy a cozy bed, private bathroom, and a large windows that open directly to the vineyards, so they wake up sorrounded by endless rows of vines.

This boutique hotel transformed real centuries-old wine barrels, once used to store up to 45,000 liters of wine, into fully equipped guest rooms.

The concept blends culture, creativity, and comfort: what could have been simple winery tour is transformed into a full hospitality experience. Travelers don’t just visit the vineyard…. they live in it, creating a memory that connects them to Chilean identity long after check out.

    This is fresh and original, Victoria. Is also has future growth potential, not in the sense that more hotel should work with wine barrels, but that they are invited to imagine on what original ways they can involve and immerse their guests in the local culture. Good. Could you integrate one or two more pics – not necessary for your work at the school, but then this Cool Seeds is candidate for Futurists Club publication. Thanks. Carl

    Wow, what a cool seed you found Victoria! I agree that the concept itself might not be suitable for every hotel (like family hotels) but the thought and message behind it is very applicable to other hotels. One thought: highlight the magnet terms you are using so reading your posts becomes even more enjoyable:)
