WHAT IT IS?
Far away from exclusive properly sealed items with a limited serial number, Hotel Pontiana Thalasso 5* in Oropesa del Mar (Spain) offers its guests a reusable cup during the check-in. Whilst luxury guests would not expect such a gesture for climate change fight, they quickly get engaged to use any of the water taps that can be found across the hotel and refill them.

WHY IT´S COOL?
- Sustainability Whilst Luxuring
Guests are given the chance for a carbon footprint compensation whilst staying in this luxury hotel.
- Unexpected From A Luxury Store
This action has a wow effect as luxury clients would not expect such a sustainable action from a luxury store where thighs used to be one use only and sustainability has never been the focus but the client and its comfort at all costs.

WHY IT HAS FUTURE GROWTH POTENTIAL?
- Aligned With The Current Sustainability Trend
This sustainability measure is aligned with nowadays values in terms of sustainability as most of the populations are more conscious than ever.
- Not A Standard Yet
Whilst it may have a good acceptance around the world, it has not turned into a standard in the hotel industry yet. Therefore, there is growth potential for this touch-point to replicate.

Very interesting and very necessary at the same time! More and more hotels are trying to join the environmental movement and recognize the importance of being more sustainable. This should be reflected in all types of establishments, whether luxury or not, as we are facing a global issue that we must all fight together (without distinction) in order to solve it.
More and more guests are also beginning to value hotels that take these kinds of actions, which turns opens up a new opportunity to reach out to that specific target audience and attract them through initiatives like this.
We hope that more and more hotels join these kinds of initiatives to help reduce environmental impact.
Very interesting blog who touches too! Congratulations
