WHAT IT IS?
The “Biblioteka” (Library) restaurant with bookshelves, a fireplace and a large forest terrace in the centre of Peredelkino, the village residence of prominent Russian writers of the 20th century (Moscow Region, Russia). A restaurant is a part of the “Literary Hotel” in Peredelkino. Bookshelves occupy a central place in the restaurant: at Biblioteka, reading is not only allowed but encouraged, and the collection of books and albums is constantly being expanded.

WHY IT´S COOL?
- Atmosphere – interiors inspired by classic literary books
- Opportunity to unwind and enjoy delicious Russian cuisine
- A great chance to get together with people who share your interests and talk about new books.

WHY IT HAS FUTURE GROWTH POTENTIAL?
- According to the analytical agency Skift, the themed hotel & F&B segment, including literary hotels & restaurants, will grow by an average of 8% per year until 2030. This trend is particularly active in countries with a rich literary heritage: the United Kingdom, Japan, France, and Russia. In these regions, hotels for book lovers have already become an integral part of cultural tourism. In the coming years, hotels with libraries are expected to begin actively implementing digital technologies, from virtual reality based on literary plots to personalised book recommendations based on AI. This will enhance personalisation and make holidays even more attractive for literature lovers.
- From a business perspective, literary hotels & F&B demonstrate high profitability. The reason for this is their loyal and affluent clientele. Book lovers are often willing to pay more for atmosphere, privacy and intellectual comfort. In addition, the literary hotels attract guests in the off-season, when traditional resorts lose traffic. This is particularly noticeable in Europe, where in 2023 the average occupancy rate of literary hotels in the low season reached 72%, which is 15% higher than that of standard hotels of the same class. This is because holidays for literature lovers do not depend on weather conditions — reading and cultural events are relevant all year round.
- According to Booking.com’s 2023 report, more than 37% of travellers prefer unique experiences, including holidays for literature lovers. In this context, hotels for book lovers are becoming increasingly popular. Such hotels offer guests not just accommodation, but a full immersion in an atmosphere of reading, solitude and cultural enrichment. Leading hotels with libraries are no longer limited to a bookshelf in the lobby — they create full-fledged literary spaces decorated in the style of famous works or authors.
