WHAT IT IS?
The Don Q Inn in Dodgeville is situated in rolling glaciated hills of southwestern Wisconsin, USA, and promises to accommodate your every taste. Whether you want to sleep in a space capsule, an igloo, or a dungeon, this hotel has it all.
This hotel has 25 themed rooms ranging from prehistoric caves to space crafts. The Don Q Inn has been satisfying visitors of every taste since 1975. The Hotel was born from Don Quinn, a WWII pilot who refused to accept the ordinary. In 1965, he purchased 250 acres of farmland and constructed his own airstrip, allowing him to park his cargo plane at home, which to this day remains in front of the hotel. Despite this, Don Quinn did not stop there; subsequently, in 1973, he constructed a 32-unit motel on the piece of land to provide visitors a fully entertaining and satisfying experience. The hotel was constructed using salvaged materials from across the Midwest – entrance doors from Dodgeville’s Methodist Church, oak pillars from a Peoria church, ceiling rafters from an Iowa army hospital. Still to this day, the hotel keeps preserving Don Quinn eccentric legacy.
