WHAT IT IS?
The InterContinental Shanghai Wonderland, also known as the “Shanghaï Shimao InterContinental,” is a stunning luxury hotel built into a former quarry in Songjiang, China.
The most important of the hotel this archicture. The hotel is built into a former limestone quarry, with its structure designed to blend seamlessly into the landscape. The unique topography influenced its design, making the hotel appear as though it is part of the natural rock formations. The hotel has 18 floors, with two of them submerged underwater. This vertical design maximizes the use of space and offers guests various views, whether above ground or underwater.
The blend of modern architectural elements with natural materials creates a visually striking appearance, making it a landmark in the region and a symbol of innovative design.

WHY IT HAS FUTURE GROWTH POTENTIAL?
Nowadays, it is very difficult to surprise people with something new. I believe this project represents a new step in the hospitality industry, and such projects will only attract a huge flow of tourists. I would like to highlight the work of the architects who demonstrated how a building can be a part of nature. This shows that creativity knows no bounds; even a quarry can be transformed into a place that will become popular.
