WHAT IT IS?
SCHWERELOS THE ROLLERCOASTER RESTAURANT in Dresden, Germany takes dining to a whole new level of cool. Here, food does not simply arrive on a tray – it races through the air on a system of rollercoaster-style tracks before landing at your table. Guests order via touchscreen, then watch as their mails twist and turn down the trails…no worries, the lid is secured.
The idea came from Michael Mack (Mack GmbH) in 2007, who wanted to combine entertainment and dining in a way that turns a simple meal into an unique, memorable, and interactive experience. Since then, only a handful of Rollercoaster Restaurants have opened in different parts of the world, making the Dresden location part of a select few worldwide. I first heard about this special restaurant through my sister who visited it and was fascinated by how the food arrives at your table like a rollercoaster ride. A restaurant experience she will never forget – and I am sure, if you go there you will not forget it either!

WHY IT´S COOL?
- Interactive Ordering: Guests get involved and control their visit through a touchscreen, choosing their dishes and watching them race to their table, making it an interactive experience and thereby even more unforgettable.
- Family-Friendly Entertainment: The mix of technology, movement, and spectacle makes it enjoyable for kids, parents, and grandparents. It’s less about fine dining and more about sharing a WOW-moment together!
- Unmatched Experience Factor: While other restaurants may serve tastier dishes or offer a wider menu, no other restaurant-concept makes the journey to your plate this exciting. Seeing your food travel through twists, turns, and loops adds a sense of excitement and surprise to every order as the dish arrives with a mini performance.

WHY IT HAS FUTURE GROWTH POTENTIAL?
Entertainment Meets Dining: Modern consumers increasingly value a memorable moment over a product alone. The Rollercoaster Restaurant taps into the filed of „experimental consumption“, where the fun of getting the meal is as important as the meal itself.
Social Media Appeal: The visual spectacle of food racing on tracks is highly shareable, giving the restaurant easy marketing power on social media posts and stories.
Tourism Magnet: Unique experiences like this attract tourists who are looking for something beyond conventional sightseeing, positioning the restaurant as a must-visit attraction in Dresden.
Cross-Brand Partnerships: The concept could partner with brands or events for themed evenings, limited-time menus, or special promotions, creating new economic experiences and opportunities.
