WHAT IS IT?
Whether you’re looking for an adventure, a relaxing break or simply to wind down in nature, Treehotel invites you to experience nature, gastronomy and surroundings, in the most memorable and unique way you can imagine.
“The Treehotel is the natural embodiment of the link between the earthly and the spiritual. It is a reminder to remain grounded while striving upwards.”- Lifestylehotels
The idea was created by Kent and Brigitte Lindvall, who owned a Bed and Breakfast and, after a fishing trip Kent took with some architect friends, he had the idea by the campfire that each of them should design their own treehouse. The Treehotel was then opened in 2010.
WHY IS IT COOL?
- It is a childhood dream made into reality. What is more attractive than making your dreams come true?
- It is highly innovative, as it has designer accommodation units created by renowned architects.
- Each one is different and each one tells its own story. From the mirror-clad “Mirrorcube”, which is almost invisible in the landscape, to the “Bird’s Nest”, which looks like a giant bird’s nest – each treehouse is a work of art in its own right.

Which kind of experience is it?
- It is a Flagship big experience in which the guests do not pay to sleep in a hotel’s bed, but pay to enjoy one of the most remote and beautiful landscapes in Europe under the roof of distinguished architects. They will never forget it!
- It is also a Risk Experience, as some of the treehouses, such as the latest one, the “7th Room”, which is located 10 meters above the ground.
WHY DOES IT HAVE FUTURE GROWTH POTENTIAL?
The Treehotel has something that a lot of hotels are missing; It doesn’t just offer a place to sleep, it offers a unique experience, as it is also an invaluable work of art.
According to the article from “growthmarketreports.com” the treehouse market size reached 2.15 billion dollars in 2024 and is expected to have a growth of 8.7% from 2025 to 2033.
My personal opinion about it is that, as I commented in my last blog, the guests are driven more and more everyday to sustainable accommodations, which would position treehotels higher on the market. Nowadays the range of options is so wide that we are no longer simply looking for a room to sleep in, but rather a unique experience that we can take with us as a memory forever.
