“Check In to Wellness: How Fitness On Demand Is Redefining the Hotel Experience”

Why go running in the park? Why pay for a gym membership every month? What’s the point when you can have it all on demand, through apps, right on your phone screen?

WHAT IT IS?

Fitness on demand is a fitness and wellness streaming platform that allows users to access high-quality workouts, mindfulness exercises, and wellness content, both at their gym and at home or wherever they are.

This platform was created with the goal of bringing fitness and healthy living closer to the corporate world, providing innovation and accessibility. They currently offer their services to gyms, office workplaces, residential properties, and hotels & resorts, which is the most interesting part; how hotels and hospitality industry are integrating innovative fitness and wellness services into their offerings. In the hospitality industry, they work with brands such as: Regal Hotels, The Ritz-Carlton, Hilton, Marriott, and Fairmont Hotels & Resorts.

But how does it work? Once checked in, guests will have access to fitness classes and premium virtual workouts through a QR code provided by the hotel, or via the iOS or Android app after subscribing. It is up to you whether you prefer to enjoy a fitness class in your room, in the hotel gym, or in any other available space for that purpose. As a particular example, Marriott International offers its Marriott Bonvoy members a free 7-day trial on the FitnessOnDemand platform. This is a clear demonstration of how the hotel chain uses this kind of fitness services to build customer loyalty through its membership program.

WHY IT´S COOL?

  • Enhances the guest experience: By offering premium virtual workouts, hotels add value to the stay, making guests feel more cared for and motivated.
  • Flexible access: Guests can work out whenever they want, whether in their room, the hotel gym, or any available space, without being limited by specific times; 24/7. They can choose between a morning stretch or yoga class in their private room or a high intensity workout that they can take to the gym with them.
  • Customer loyalty: By integrating this app with membership programs (such as Marriott Bonvoy), hotels can keep their customers engaged and loyal in the long term.
  • Technology and digitalization: Since we are living in a technological era, hotels need to evolve at the same speed as their environment and guests do. This kind of services are especially appealing to Generation Z as they have grown up with apps and online platforms. They highly value being able to access digital services conveniently from their devices and even more if we talk about fitness and wellness.
  • Scalable to other business ideas such as office spaces, gyms, residential housing…

WHY IT HAS FUTURE GROWTH POTENTIAL?

In a world where personal well-being has become a priority, the hospitality industry is evolving to meet the growing expectations of modern guests. It’s no longer enough to offer a comfortable bed and a continental breakfast. Today’s travelers seek a complete experience that combines comfort, health, and technology.

In this context, digital fitness has taken advantage from traditional gyms, and tools like Fitness On Demand are redefining how hotels deliver wellness services.

The fusion of technology, healthy living, and hospitality not only enhances the guest experience but also positions hotels as innovative spaces, ready to meet the needs of today’s health-conscious travelers.
