Or intimate. Or a party. Or a cinema. Or a gathering. The architecture doesn&#8217;t decide the answer quite so rigidly.\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Take Away<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&amp;Here SHINJUKU Tokyo calls itself a <strong>\u201cNEO PUBLIC HOUSE\u201d<\/strong>. Its lobby and terrace are designed as social gathering spaces, while its guest rooms include unusually social formats: a private bar suite and a private theatre suite, both designed for groups of up to six people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The interesting signal isn&#8217;t simply that hotels are becoming more social.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We&#8217;ve known that for years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It is something subtler:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>What if the luxury hotel lets you choose your degree of togetherness?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Sign<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1160\" height=\"604\" src=\"https:\/\/scienceofthetime.com\/fc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/2-1160x604.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-44475\" srcset=\"https:\/\/scienceofthetime.com\/fc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/2-1160x604.jpg 1160w, https:\/\/scienceofthetime.com\/fc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/2-800x417.jpg 800w, https:\/\/scienceofthetime.com\/fc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/2-1536x800.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/scienceofthetime.com\/fc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/2-2048x1067.jpg 2048w, https:\/\/scienceofthetime.com\/fc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/2-120x63.jpg 120w, https:\/\/scienceofthetime.com\/fc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/2-90x47.jpg 90w, https:\/\/scienceofthetime.com\/fc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/2-320x167.jpg 320w, https:\/\/scienceofthetime.com\/fc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/2-560x292.jpg 560w, https:\/\/scienceofthetime.com\/fc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/2-1920x1001.jpg 1920w, https:\/\/scienceofthetime.com\/fc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/2.jpg 2560w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1160px) 100vw, 1160px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What Is It?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Hotels normally divide life very neatly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The room is private.<br>The lobby is public.<br>The bar is social.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But &amp;Here SHINJUKU deliberately scrambles those categories.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The hotel opened in Shinjuku in September 2025 with a concept it calls <strong>\u201cNEO PUBLIC HOUSE \u2014 A New Social Gathering Space Surrounded by Green Spaces.\u201d<\/strong> Its 11th-floor lobby is designed as a social space, with an outdoor terrace offering different areas for gathering, including spaces around a fire. Weekend and seasonal DJ events are also held there.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But then comes the really intriguing part.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The hotel has a <strong>Premier Bar Suite<\/strong>: a 70m\u00b2 private room for up to six adults with its own bar experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And a <strong>Premier Theater Suite<\/strong>, also 70m\u00b2 for up to six, with a private theatre.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">So the social experience doesn&#8217;t stop when you leave the lobby.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>It can move into your room.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Why Is It Cool?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"863\" height=\"575\" src=\"https:\/\/scienceofthetime.com\/fc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/231490fb.avif\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-44476\" srcset=\"https:\/\/scienceofthetime.com\/fc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/231490fb.avif 863w, https:\/\/scienceofthetime.com\/fc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/231490fb-800x533.avif 800w, https:\/\/scienceofthetime.com\/fc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/231490fb-120x80.avif 120w, https:\/\/scienceofthetime.com\/fc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/231490fb-90x60.avif 90w, https:\/\/scienceofthetime.com\/fc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/231490fb-320x213.avif 320w, https:\/\/scienceofthetime.com\/fc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/231490fb-560x373.avif 560w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 863px) 100vw, 863px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Because <strong>privacy and sociability are no longer being treated as opposites.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Think about how people actually live.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You may want to be alone at 9 pm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Invite four friends at 10.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Go downstairs at 11.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Disappear back into your room at midnight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The conventional hotel makes those choices for you through architecture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&amp;Here starts to suggest another model:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Don&#8217;t design spaces according to fixed social functions.
