FRUIT OF THE FUTURE

May 18, 2020WHAT IT IS?
Have you imagined working with a digital colleague? Now it’s possible. IPsoft Inc, a New York-based technology company has launched an AI-based digital agent called Amelia. In what IPsoft Inc calls the first marketplace for digital workers, any business can interview and hire a digital employee pre-trained as an IT service desk engineer, HR, or Customer Service. This digital employee can handle up to 1,000 inquiries per month, both independently and in collaboration with human co-workers. Amelia’s cognitive intelligence allows her to continuously learn from every interaction, that makes her language more natural every time.
WHY IT’S COOL?
We’ve been always looking for ways to make our jobs more meaningful and enjoyable. Technologies as AI can help employees handle tedious and highly repeatable tasks, allowing individuals to reserve their working hours for more critical and creative duties, improving productivity in a certain way that working hours could be even reduced.
“AI will be able to improve productivity to the point where working hours can be feasibly reduced for any business.”
Jonathan Crane, Chief Operating Officer at IPsoft
It can cause a high improvement in life quality and people already seems to be used with this idea. Survey conduct by V1 shows that 40% of workers would be happy for any part of their job to be automated and Advanced report shows that 77% would be happy working alongside robotic technology if meant fewer manual processes.
WHY IT HAS FUTURE GROWTH POTENTIAL?
The use of AI seems to grow in the labor market. The World Economic Forum predicted by 2025 humans will make up only 48 percent of the workforce, with digital workers accounting for 52 percent.
We can also see AI technologies evolving and with growth potential to be used in several sectors. This year, the START labs, an independent branch of Samsung, has unveiled NEON, a computationally virtual being that looks and behaves like a real human, with the ability to show emotions and intelligence. Using a new technology named CORE R3, Samsung has created artificial humans able to react and respond in real-time.

Hi Gustavo, you made a really nice blog!
!!!pay attention: you wrote a paragraph twice. The paragraph that start with: ‘ It can cause a high improvement..’ ?
But I really like your writing style! It’s nice that you put you video halfway through your post. Well done!!

Hi Melissa. Thank you for warning me! I’ve already changed 🙂
I enjoyed reading your work, gustavo! Keep it up!
Dear Gustavo. Nice to have you around. Blog content is sharp and fresh and will written. You know how to document as well! (Though it would be nice when you would have mentioned the research you are quoting from.) Room for improvement? For sure and that’s good. In class we spoke about the rise of inequality and people losing their jobs (at that point they start disliking whatever kinds of robots). Your Amelia hits that discussion on the head but you miss out on it. Therefore your blog is less deep than could have been possible. But, well, this is your first one. I invite you to show more. Would like to e-meet you after four blogs. Your suggestions and remarks in class are distinctive! Warm regards. Carl
Hi Gustavo, great blog!
I like that it’s short and clear. It was easy to keep my attention to the blog, so that is nice. A clear video that supports your blog. Maybe next time you could go a little bit more in-depth about the future growth potential because I think this would be a very interesting aspect of this blog. I am curious about your view of its future growth potential. Kind regards, Floor
