Third Aurora, an Australian tech start-up company, has launched WineryTale, a superb, augmented reality app designed for the wine industry to tell their stories, and to bring people together over wine. It features an interactive display that appears over the label of the bottle (virtually) and includes 3D video panels, a social media wall, and a hologram from within a bottle. Yes, you read it right: a hologram!
How does it work? For wineries, they need to become members, scan the label of the product, and enter all the information they want to share through a website and go live. For the user, simply scan the bottle’s label with a smartphone and start learning and playing.
But Third Aurora has not stopped there. They have recently developed the same concept but for the beer and soft drink market. This AR design will come to live early 2021.

Why it has future growth potential?
Indeed, AR and 3D tech are not new, but this type of app is a major step into the future. It totally feels fresh and new, and certainly super cool!
I believe this technology will open major doors in the hospitality industry. Some restaurants have already started trying AR concepts, like Panera Bread. Their campaign was limited to engaging young audiences through Facebook and Snapchat features in 3D. And their investment was worth every penny.
With this technology the industry could easily get rid of physical menus and start developing full AR menus where you could see a 3D image of each item, tap to see the nutritional fact, browse the ingredients and allergy related info, hear the chef explain how to cook it, read recommendations from other clients among others. Augmented reality will surely conquer the future of the restaurant industry.
