WHAT IT IS?
Did you hold an event with banners involved? Don’t throw them away!
It’s simple: 1 sq.m. banner = 1 shopping bag of 35×40 cm. ‘Polyarus’ is a Russian designer brand acting in the realm of contemporary culture of conscious consumption. This project originates in St. Petersburg, where the founder of the brand, Alexandra decided to sew bags from advertising banners, seat belts et cetera. Various large companies such as Hyundai MotorStudio, Adidas, YOTA, Johnnie Walker are providing the company with their old banners. The founder of the project calls it: noble commerce, though it is not charity, it is exclusively commercial.
WHY IT’S COOL?
Each created accessory, made from indestructible material, gives new life in the form of stylish backpacks, clutches, bags and accessories with enviable durability and practicality. It is conceptual minimalism and brevity, handmade and with an individual approach. Smart recycling combined with uniqueness.
WHY IT HAS FUTURE GROWTH POTENTIAL?
Every object should be given a second life, especially when the production and disposal of it causes colossal harm to our eco-environment. ‘Polyarus’ makes this its central principle of work.
