Creativity with us

This tool is designed to help you document, analyse and interpret the signs that exist all around you. It can also help you gather seeds together with fellow Coolhunters.
Creativity is just connecting things. When you ask creative people how they did something, they feel a little guilty because they didn’t really do it, they just saw something. It seemed obvious to them after a while. That’s because they were able to connect experiences they’ve had and synthesize new things.

Quality research To predict what is coming

Science of the Time, Science of Cool

Many people claim they can foretell the future. For all we know, they are wrong. Nobody is capable of such prophecies. What one can do is identify the most important signs happening right now to create a better view on what is coming. That is where our Coolhunt methodology comes in hand.

We call the process of sign research Science of Cool. Being a Coolhunter means you study the world 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Still, you won’t be able to do this on your own. Analysing and interpreting well-documented examples from other experts is key if you want to understand what is happening now as well as in the future.

Basic Info about us

We are here to challenge you and improve your skills

You will not operate solely in this process. If you’re involved in one of our projects you will plant seeds along with other Coolhunters/contributors.

Eventually you will harvest new lines and ideas, and this is the first step in finding and creating new signs. If you’re new to the field of sign research, you can join us in ‘open projects’. Submit your examples here to interact with Coolhunters from around the globe!

01.

Definition of Cool
Always bear in mind the definition of Cool: attractive and inspiring with Future Growth Potential.

02.

When you are writing your blog: use Telling Pictures e.g. pictures that tell the story as strong and loud and clear as you want and need.

03.

What it is?
When you are writing the blog you start with What it is. Here you document what your post is all about. Be aware, that it will be read by people in other parts of the world who might be unfamiliar with your place and culture. So be clear. Also be thorough and clever. For instance: when you use the work of a designer mention his or her name, where she comes from, what is his website. This is Clever Documenting.

04.

Why Is It Cool?
After finishing the What it is part of your blog, you start with explaining Why Is It Cool. That means: why is your Cool Seed of the New: attractive and inspiring. Also here: Document Cleverly. Give arguments. Use a quote, if you have one. Never say: “I think it is Cool because it is Cool.”

05.

Future Growth Potential
Then you proceed with the last part of your blog: Why does your Cool Seed of the New have Future Growth Potential. Also here, you will be judged by your capacity to Document Cleverly.

Clever & Not Clever

Not clever: “This Cool Seeds of the New has Future Growth Potential because I think it will grow in the future.”

Clever: “I think this Cool Seed of the New has Future Growth Potential, because it aims to improve your health in an apps-empowered, fun way. I think it will both appeal to the younger generations, because they are living in an apps-culture. But I also think it will appeal to the 50+ generation, because they are ageing and they all want to keep in good health.”

Hypes are interesting, but superficial
